Winter solstice
Winter solstice also known as "Winter Festival" is around December 22 every year.
On this day, the position of the sun directly hitting the ground reached the southernmost point of the year, almost directly hitting the Tropic of Capricorn (23°26' south latitude).
The northern hemisphere gets the least sunlight on this day.
The southern hemisphere has the longest daytime, and the northern hemisphere has the shortest daylight.
After the winter solstice, the day will become longer day by day.

Climate characteristics
The winter solstice marks the imminent cold season.
The weather in the northern hemisphere will continue to be cold.
Other
China calls it the winter solstice day, and in Hungary, the Magyars call it Karajong Day (Карачун).
This festival is called Nartugan Day (Нартуған) in Kazakhstan.

Diet
On the winter solstice day, regardless of rich or poor, dumplings are an essential holiday meal.
Because in China, dumplings represent reunion, family members will sit together to make and eat dumplings.
On this day, our company organized employees to make dumplings together which can enhance their's unity.

This day has the least sunshine, but the most lively.
Plates of steaming dumplings warmed our stomachs and melted our hearts.
Although our employees come from different places, they share common ideals.

Colleagues get along and support each other day and night, and they have formed close feelings like family.
